Community Based Learning

The world around Me

Through our curriculum, we aim to bring learning to life by connecting children with real-world experiences and meaningful community links. During Term 3, our focus on “People Who Help Us” provided a wonderful opportunity to explore the important roles individuals play in supporting others every day. We reached out to members of the local community, welcoming visitors to share talks and give tours, allowing children to see these roles in action. Alongside this, role-play activities encouraged children to deepen their understanding, build empathy, and develop confidence as they explored how they too can make a positive difference.

Police Visit

A huge thank you to Kent Police for visiting Little Learners — it was fantastic for the children to see the officers in full uniform and watch the patrol car in action. The children loved hearing the sirens and seeing the flashing lights up close, and they were so excited to sit inside the car, pretend to be drivers, and even experience being safely “arrested” in the back! It was a truly memorable and engaging experience for everyone.

Firefighter - Visit

A huge thank you to Kent Firefighters for visiting Little Learners and giving the children such an exciting, hands-on experience. The children loved meeting the firefighters in their full uniforms, exploring the fire engine up close and learning all about how they keep our community safe. One of the highlights was seeing our staff get fully dressed up as firefighters, which brought lots of smiles and laughter! The children were also thrilled to have a turn using the water hoses, making the experience even more memorable. It was a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, spark curiosity and learn about real-life heroes in a fun and engaging way.
